Japan Funds US$3.4Mln for Energy Saving in Thanh Hoa

Japan’s NEDO agency will provide a non-refundable aid worth JPY 400 million (US$3.4 million) for Vietnam to raise power saving and efficiency in the Thanh Hoa Beer Joint-stock Company in the central Thanh Hoa province, State media reported.
 
Of the total, about JPY224.5 million ($1.907 million) of facilities using the Japanese technology will help the Company, with the annual capacity of 75 million liters, save roughly 3,400 tons of fuel oil, reduce about 10 per cent of power consumption, some 10,000 tons of coals to produce every 1,000 liters and cut down approximately 10,000 tons of CO2 annually, a company official said.
 
The firm under the umbrella of the Hanoi Beer, Alcohol and Beverage Corporation (Habeco) has about 700-800 workers. After this project, Habeco will apply this technology to its other brewery factories.
