Nikko Vietnam Joint Stock Company and Bac Kan Minerals Joint Stock Company have signed a deal to establish a 40:60 joint venture with total capital of VND780 billion (US$48.75 million).
The Bac Kan-Nikko Vietnam Joint Venture is to intensively exploit and process lead and zinc and other minerals in the two phases in the northern province of Bac Kan.
In the first phase, the joint venture will invest to build a VND300 billion the factory that has an annual capacity of 20,000 tons of lead and 10,000 tons of zinc. It expects annual revenues of over VND1 trillion (US$62.5 million).
In the first half of this year, Vietnamese Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment licensed 21 mineral exploration and exploitation projects, and issued one decision to close a mining project. (Vietnam Economic Times, Vietnam & World Economy)
