Southern Binh Duong province is expected to notch up more than US$1 billion from woodwork exports this year, up more than 50 per cent from 2006.
In the first ten months, the province exported US$941 million, up by 52.9 per cent from US$416 million last year, accounting for 49.4 per cent of Vietnam's total woodwork export revenue.
Binh Duong, now the biggest woodwork producer and exporter in Vietnam, is home to 360 companies specializing in woodwork processing and exporting, with 100 companies of which are foreign-invested.
Vietnam is forecast to export from US$2.2 billion to US$2.5 billion worth of woodwork in 2007. (
