Around 100 representatives from tourism associations, travel agents and reporters from Japan and Republic of Korea will survey and conduct business in central Vietnam city of Nha Trang from Oct 1 to 5, 2008, state media has said.

The guests will attend conferences on tourism activities and cooperation during their visit as well as survey scenic areas such as the Ponagar Tower, Long Son Pagada, Nha Trang Bay and the Ponagar Tower Hot Spa Center.

Vietnam has been one of the top safe and attractive destinations most favored and selected by foreign tourists, including Koreans and Japanese over the past several years.

However, only Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City are familiar destinations for potential tourists from those countries, while Nha Trang has not yet been advertised widely in the Japanese and RoK markets.

A cooperative program between Khanh Hoa’s Culture, Sports and Tourism Department and the Vietnam Aviation Corporation has been established with the aim of successfully attracting Japanese and Korean tourists to the Central Coast city.

Vietnam welcomed more than 1.1 million arrivals from Japan and Korea in the first seven months of this year, down 5.2 per cent against the same period last year. (CPV, VietNamNet)
