The Vietnamese Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and the World Bank (WB) on September 18 launched a project to modernize land management system worth US$100 million in Hanoi, state media reported.
Of the total capital, WB funds US$75 million and the rest comes from Vietnam’s reciprocal capital, Vietnam News Agency said.
The Vietnam Land Administration Project (VLAP) will be implemented in Hanoi and provinces of Hung Yen, Thai Binh, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Khanh Hoa, Tien Giang, Ben Tre and Vinh Long in the 2008-2013 period.
Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Tran The Ngoc said the project will be expanded across the country to mobilize all resources for land management modernization, besides the nine selected localities.
The project aims to set up a computerized and easily accessible land information service with equitable services for people of different groups.
The project will include three parts namely modernizing land registration system, enhancing land registration services and assisting management and implementation of land projects. (VNA, New Hanoi)
