Vietnam is estimated to export US$30 million worth of fruit and vegetable in Sept, raising its total export revenue from the products to US$282 million in the first nine months of 2008, up 26.3 per cent on year, report by the General Statistics Office showed.
From January and August, the country raked in more than US$252 million from fruit and vegetable exports, with Russia, China, and Taiwan being the biggest importers.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade said that Russia was the biggest importer of Vietnamese fruit and vegetable in Jan-Aug period with total spending of US$28.145 million and China ranked second with US$28.115 million.
Followings were Taiwan and Japan with US$20.68 million and US$20.4 million, respectively.
The U.S. won fifth position as importing US$12.63 million worth of fruit and vegetable from Vietnam, followed by Indonesia with US$11.55 million. (GSO Sept Edition, Vinanet)
