Singapore-based Mapletree Investments Pte Ltd. has inked a land lease pact with Becamex Investment and Development Trading Company to build a US$400-million high-tech park in southern Vietnam, the Saigon Giai Phong newspaper reported.
Located in the southern Binh Duong province, 35 kilometers north of Ho Chi Minh City, the 75-hectare park will cater to industries such as high tech, software and product development, research and development, and value-added manufacturing, the newspaper reported.
Construction of the park is scheduled to start next year.
Earlier this week, Mapletree, an unlisted real estate firm inaugurated a US$110 million logistics park in the Vietnam – Singapore II industrial zone. The 68-hectare park is the second logistics park it has built in Binh Duong.
The latest project will raise Mapletree's total investment in Vietnam to US$700 million. (Saigon Liberation, Vietnam Economic Times)
