HCM city-based Bao Thanh Blue-dragon Fruit Exporting Plant has received certificate from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) to export the fruit to this country.
The USDA officer Ton Sutton and Nguyen Huu Dat, head of the Plant Quarantine Center of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, signed the certificate October 15.
Bao Thanh Plant is the third Vietnamese blue-dragon fruit exporter to receive such certification after the Ham Minh Blue-dragon Fruit Cooperatives and the Hoang Hau (Qeen) Blue-dragon Fruit Co. Ltd in central Binh Thuan province.
Sutton said if Binh Thuan invested in more fruit-cleaning facilities, the USAD was willing to provide technical assistance so more local companies could export dragon fruit to the U.S. (Young People)
