Hamanakodenso Company, a subsidiary of Japan's Denso Corp., has established a new affiliate to produce auto parts in Vietnam, sources from the company said.
The new firm, Hamaden Vietnam Co., has capital of 1.3 billion yen and is fully owned by Hamanakodenso. Hamaden Vietnam will construct a plant in an industrial park near Hanoi at a cost of 2.2 billion yen by September 2009.
The plant, slated to start operations by around June 2010, will produce sensors that control engine air-intake volume and solenoid valves used to send vaporized gasoline to the engine, according to Denso, a major auto parts maker affiliated with top Japanese automaker Toyota Motor Corp.
The sensors will be sold mainly in Vietnam and other member countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations while the solenoid valves will be marketed across the globe, excluding Japan, Denso said.
Denso hopes that Hamaden Vietnam will achieve sales of 3.5 billion yen in fiscal 2012. Hamaden Vietnam is the second overseas production base for Hamanakodenso. (japancorp.net)
