Kumho Asiana Presents Scholarships to Vietnamese Students

The Republic of Korea ’s Kumho Asiana Group awarded 140 scholarships with a total value of 231 million VND to poor Vietnamese students on October 28. Of which, 126 students are studying at 18 universities in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hue, Da Nang and Da Lat and 14 others selected to the final of the first Korean speaking contest held last July. These students will receive scholarship until they finish their university.

 

This is the second time that Kumho Asiana has provided a number of scholarships for outstanding students who had overcome their disadvantages. In March 2008, the group also presented 100 scholarships to Vietnamese students from nine colleges and universities in Hanoi .

 

Among the group’s social activities in Viet Nam , the Kumho Asiana-Vietnam Scholarship and Cultural Foundation was set up with an initial capital of 2 million USD in December 2007. The Kumho Asiana group also plans to sponsor other cultural exchanges and social activities in Vietnam.
