Jaks Resources Berhad Seeking Approval to Build US$1.4 Bln Power Plant in Vietnam

Jaks Resources Berhad of Malaysia is in process of paperwork completion for a license to invest to build a 1,200 megawatt thermal power plant at a total cost of US$1.4 billion in the northern province of Hai Duong, the Dau Tu (Investment) newspaper said.
 
The Hai Duong province's Department of Planning and Investment said this is the first project which will be built under the build-operation-ownership model in Vietnam with a span of 50 years.
 
The plant is expected to start generating power in 2015.
