The state-owned oil monopoly PetroVietnam group reportedly shipped abroad US$29 billion worth of exports between 2006 and 2008, said General Director Tran Ngoc Canh.
PetroVietnam is estimated to make gross revenues of VND689 trillion (US$41.75 billion), representing 103 per cent the target in the period, and contribute VND273 trillion (US$16.54 billion) to the state budget.
During the three-year period, PetroVietnam has discovered 11 new oilfields and clinched 33 domestic and overseas oil and gas agreements.
It has also put into production seven oilfields with a combined output of 69.82 million tons of oil equivalent; operated PM3, Ca Mau, and Phu My-Nhon Trach gas pipelines; and put into operation Ca Mau 1, Ca Mau 2 and Nhon Trach power plants.
The group's oil and gas services including technical, drilling, construction, finance, and insurance have seen growth rates of over 20 per cent in the phase.
Between Jan and Sept, PetroVietnam made total revenues of VND222.9 trillion (US$13.5 billion), up 56 per cent on year, of which service revenues were estimated at VND52.4 trillion (US$3.17 billion).
This year, PetroVietnam targets revenues of VND316.4 trillion (US$19.175 billion) and contributes VND113 trillion (US$6.848 billion) to the state coffer. (Pioneer)
