Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) forecasts that local tourism companies will recruit 1.4 million workers this year.
The country has 88 universities, colleges and vocational schools training human resources for tourism sector, meeting 50% of total demand, the VNAT said.
Vietnam’s tourism sector presented an annual growth of 20% over the past ten years. The industry contributed 6.3% of the country’s total GDP in 2008.
The tourism sector is among Vietnam’s two largest forex earners, with more than $4 billion last year. (New Hanoi)
