Quang Son Cement: Creating Industrial Springboard for Thai Nguyen

In early 2010, Quang Son Cement Plant started official operations, becoming the largest of its kind in Thai Nguyen province and using most advanced cement technology. The plant is believed to create a catalyst for the development of Thai Nguyen industry and the northern mountainous area.

 

Addressing at the inaugural ceremony, Party General Secretary Nong Duc Manh said: “I am really happy when Thai Nguyen province and the northern mountainous region now have a cement reverter furnace using advanced technology like Quang Son Cement. This will importantly contribute to restructuring industrial sectors, boosting socioeconomic development, creating jobs and improving living standards of local people, etc.”

 

Production lines were imported from world-leading cement equipment manufacturers in France and other G7 nations. Specially, the plant installs Horomill dual grinders made by French Fcb.Ciment - the first to be used in Vietnam. These latest equipments are being used by world-leading cement producers, meet all technical requirements, ensure stable performance, and have long lifespan. Main production lines and supporting stages are highly mechanised and automated to turn out high-quality products at highest productivity and lowest cost. With power economisation and cost-effective transportation, Quang Son cement has more competitive prices than other types on the market.

 

All electrical equipment and controlling software systems are made by the Switzerland-based ABB Group. The electrical equipment is proven durable, stable, highly accurate, self-controlled to meet all technological requirements. The process controlling software is optimised for cement production technology. The furnace has a designed capacity of 4,000 tonnes of clinker a day, or 1.26 million tonnes of clinker a year - an equivalent to 1.5 million tonnes of cement. Products include C_PC50 clinker, complex Portland cement type PCB30 and PCB40, Portland cement type PC30 and PC40.

 

As of August 2010, the entire production lines and equipment of the factory, input supplies and output markets have been at expectations. Production lines satisfy all the technical and environmental requirements. The plant is powered by state-of-the-art cost-effective technology to reduce production costs. To date, the plant’s engineers and workers can operate production lines to the full capacity.

 

Quang Son Cement has officially supplied cement products to the domestic market. To make Quang Son cement competitive and establish a strong foothold on the market, the plant has synchronised all activities related to the sale of products, from building sales plan and branding to completing sales policies.

 

After seven months of operation, Quang Son Cement brand was initially built up the position on the strategic market. In the next period, the plant will strive to successfully build Quang Son Cement brand, making a strong trademark in the next three years. To enhance competitiveness, the plant focuses on improving product quality: selecting and innovating technology, selecting input materials, monitoring production processes, applying ISO 9000 and ISO 14000 international quality management standards. The plant will seek out new measures to reduce product prices and build competitive selling system for specific products. It also builds corporate culture and strengthen the loyalty of employees to the company.
