Representatives of Maritime Bank has recently handed over keys of houses of gratitude for four families in communes of Tan Hoa, Tan Phuoc and Dong Tam in Binh Phuoc province’s Dong Phu. This is the fourth charity program Maritime Bank has made since early this year.
In Maritime Bank, the charitable work is appreciated not less than banking business activities. The Maritime Bank leadership has been trying to give supports to many different objects, from children treating at the Central Pediatrics Hospital, poor women, AO/dioxin victims, mothers of revolutionary martyrs to needy households across the country, even those in localities without Maritime bank transaction places. Nguyen Huong Loan, Maritime Bank Deputy Director, said “the charitable work is one of important channels for enterprises to implement their responsibility to the community. We hope that our efforts will partially support the families with difficult circumstances.”
In 2010, Maritime Bank spent over VND2 billion on charitable activities. The figure is expected to continue increasing this year. In the first four months of this year, the sum Maritime Bank having spent for such activities was over VND1 billion.
