The Hai Phong Branch of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI Hai Phong) recently hosted a meeting to review its operations in 2011.

In 2011, global and domestic economic slowdown caused adverse impacts on production and business operations of the business community in northern coastal region in particular and the entire country in general. But, under the guidance of VCCI and the cooperation of local agencies and sectors, especially the quick response and close collaboration of entrepreneurs and enterprises, VCCI Hai Phong’s staffs proactively overcame difficulties and challenges to achieve planned objectives and tasks in 2011.

Speaking at the meeting, Dr Vu Tien Loc, VCCI President, said: The branch is a flagship and an active member of VCCI. He noted that 2012 is the centre year to implement the Resolution No. 09 of the Politburo on building and promoting the roles of Vietnamese entrepreneur force in the time of accelerating industrialisation, modernisation and international integration. This Resolution is imbued with the national and humanity spirit of Vietnamese entrepreneurs. The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) is the first representative for Vietnamese business community and entrepreneur force defined by the Resolution of the Party. The Resolution 09 is an opportunity and a challenge for VCCI. To complete tasks, the roles of branches, including VCCI Hai Phong, are very important.
