5th Quang Nam - Heritage Itinerary Festival to Open in Jun 2013

The fifth Quang Nam Heritage Itinerary Festival will be organised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Quang Nam Provincial People’s Committee in June 2013 in Hoi An City and some districts like Nui Thanh, Duy Xuyen, Dien Ban, Dong Giang and Nam Giang in order to promote and celebrate Quang Nam and Vietnamese cultures.

 

The festival is expected to have the participation of central and highland provinces and 20 countries and territories in the world.

 

The event will highlight unique activities like world intangible cultural heritage display featured by exhibitions, performing arts and street carnavals; second international choral festival joined by 1,500 artists from 40 art troupes from 20 countries and territories; Vietnamese ethnic arts festival; ASEAN cultural space exhibition; "Vietnamese marine cultural heritage” exhibition; exhibited artwork, exhibition of Quang Nam rockwork in My Son Sanctuary; display of arts lanterns in Hoi An Town, and others.

 

Particularly, bai choi singing festival will be opened for the first time at this event, performed by art troupes from Thua Thien-Hue, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai and Binh Dinh Phu Yen, Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan and Binh Thuan provinces and Da Nang City. This public art festival is the foundation for study and documentation of bai choi singing to submit to the UNESCO Committee for the recognition of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
