Ha Giang City - “the flower embroidered on brocade” is known as the economic, political, cultural and social centre of Ha Giang province. After more than one century of development, the city has constantly changed appearance thanks to open policies, welcoming businesses operating and investing in the city.
Ha Giang City’s People Committee has launched many favourable mechanisms to invite businesses to invest in production development in the model of investment recovery and pick up reinvestment with agricultural products consumption. At the same time, Ha Giang City has continued to call on all economic sectors to invest in the construction of urban areas, new residential areas with synchronised modern infrastructure in areas of which conditions are favourable for developing residential land. The city has also expanded foreign partnership, focusing on economic activities, strengthened exchanges and cooperation to gain experiences in investment attracting, joint ventures operating between economic units of local as well as outside the province, promoting foreign direct investment.
In the context of difficult economy, Ha Giang City’s People’s Committee has implemented support measures to help businesses overcome obstacles in production and business, supporting market, resolving bad debt under the Resolution of the National Assembly and government; conducted six-month extension for Value Added Tax, 6 to 12-month extension for business tax with a total of more than VND3,000 million.
In the future, Ha Giang City will focus all resources to efficiently implement measures to promote socio-economic development; striving to reach the set-out economic growth; effectively implementing approved programs and projects, stabilizing macro economy, ensuring social security, improving living standards of the people.
At the same time, Ha Giang City will enhance activities of investment promotion, trade - services promotion, will encourage promotion of the city’s potentials to attract domestic and foreign investment. The city also will encourage expansion and diversification of tourism; will call on all economic sectors to invest in the construction of urban areas, new residential areas with synchronized modern infrastructure in areas of which conditions are favourable for developing residential land, expanding urban areas and attracting residence.
