Nghe An province licensed 115 new projects with a total registered capital of VND12,657.85 billion (US$563 million) and allowed 14 existing projects to add VND303.03 billion (US$13.5 million) in the first nine months of 2017, according to a report released by the Nghe An Provincial People’s Committee.

This remarkable outcome resulted from effective investment promotion and attraction events. For instance, the province hosted the 2017 Lunar New Year Meeting with investors, organised an investment promotion programme in Australia, and coordinated with VSIP Nghe An to launch investment promotion events in Malaysia, Hong Kong, South Korea and Ho Chi Minh City.

Provincial leaders received and worked with many investors who showed interests in surveying the investment and business environment in Nghe An province, including a delegation of more than 40 Thai companies led by Thailand Board of Investment (BOI) and Hemaraj Group or FLC Group.

In the first nine months of 2017, the province had 1,275 new business start-ups with a combined registered capital of VND6,612.505 billion, up 17.61 per cent in entity and 47.48 per cent in value over the same period of 2016. The average registered capital of an enterprise was VND5.19 billion, 25.4 percent more than a year ago.
