Khanh Binh Border Gate Economic Area Established in An Giang Province

The Prime Minister has recently decided to open Khanh Binh Border Gate Economic Area in An Phu district, An Giang province, the third economic area of this kind, after Tinh Bien and Vinh Xuong.

The economic area includes three border gates, the main Khanh Binh and the others of Bac Dai and Nhon Hoi, with total area of 7,412 hectares. To facilitate the development of the area, the province has upgraded provincial roads 965 and 957 to become the area’s major axle, built Tien brigde through Hau river, linked An Phu, Chau Doc and National road 91, and cooperated with Cambodia to build a bridge over Binh Di river to link the border gate with Phnom Penh Capital.

Khanh Binh economic area is applied with the policy on border gate economic areas under the Prime Minister’s Decision No.53/2001/QD-TTg dated April 19, 2001. The An Giang People’s Committee arranges the local budget and raises other capital sources to build the economic area.
