Recently, the People’s Committee of Nghe An province announced its planning of the expansion of the Thai Hoa urban area in Nghia Dan district.
According to a project developed by the Management Board of Civil and Engineering Infrastructure Development and the Rural Planning Institute of the Ministry of Construction, Thai Hoa town will be expanded to the west and northwest of Nghia Quang commune along the banks of the Hieu River and the south of Nghia Hoa and Nghia My communes. Total planned area of the inner area of the town is put at 1,897 hectares. The urban area consists of Thai Hoa town and five nearby communes, which will be organised into three parts, including the township area in Nghia Hoa commune, the Nghia My commune hilly area and the new area in the west of the Hieu River. It will have an industrial part, residential part and central part.
The expansion of the Thai Hoa urban area for civil, cultural and administrative works, is suitable with the rural development orientations in the 2005-2010 and 2020 periods.
