Recently, over 2,000 students from universities and colleges of technology in Hanoi attended an exchange meeting which was organised in the Hanoi National University to launch the Nhan Tai Dat Viet (Vietnamese Talents) Information and Communication Technology Contest. The programme was just one of the activities marking the 100th anniversary of the Indochina University, May 16, 1906 and May 16, 2006, and the 75th anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, March 26, 1931 and March 26, 2006.
With criteria of encouraging talents and encouraging students to join the contest, the organisers presented scholarships, valued VND 1 million each, to 15 students from 15 universities and colleges in Hanoi, who have recorded excellent results in their studies and have a passion for information technology.
After the exchange, the organisers will hold other seminars and exchange meetings with students and enterprises in localities nationwide, such as Haiphong, Nghe An, Hue, Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa, Ho Chi Minh City and Da Lat. These events are expected to attract students from 100 universities and colleges.
The 2006 Nhan Tai Dat Viet Contest was initiated and sponsored by the Ministry of Post and Telematics, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Education and Training, and other sponsors including the Vietnam Post and Telecommunication Corporation, the Vinaphone Company, the Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam, and Pacific Airlines.
