Industrial Parks in Dong Nai Province Seeing Remarkable Improvement

In 2006-2010 period, Dong Nai province targets "quality and sustainable development". The goal is set for all economic sectors including industrial zones (IZs). Dong Nai is known as a province with many IZs, but the fast development has created problems. With 480 operating projects worth US$4,6 billion in 18 IZs (out of 722 licensed projects and registered capital of over US$8.2 billion), the improvement of infrastructure is the main problem for the investors.

 

According to Sonadezi Long Thanh JSC, some investors in Long Thanh IZ first came and demanded a large supply of water. The company tried its best to meet the demand and the supply now has even exceeded the demand. Though newly established, Long Thanh IZ like some other IZs, have a fast development of infrastructure. The company has invested some VND24 billion for waste water treatment and the project will start test operation in the first quarter of this year.

 

Beside IZs with existing water treatment facilities namely Bien Hoa II, Loteco, Amata. Go Dau, Nhon Trach I, and Tam Phuoc IZs will soon start operating their water treatment projects. Similar projects are under way in Ho Nai, Song May, Nhon Trach III and Nhon Trach II IZs.

 

Some remaining issues are the implementation of the goals : green, clean, beautiful and modern. Specific criteria have not been determined. Security network has not been established. With the investment of over US$200 million in infrastructure, Dong Nai is trying its utmost to build modern IZs and improve the investment environment of the province.
