DHL launched Airport to Door Express Service

On Oct 19, DHL Express launched of Airport to Door Express, an offering that is easy to use and provides the speed advantage of DHL’s industry-leading service and is designed to meet the transportation requirements of importers currently using Free Carrier (FCA) incoterms.
 
Airport to Door Express is a specially designed, user-friendly service that meets the needs of customers who import from their overseas suppliers and do not require door-to-door transport. This new service, which has traditionally been offered by freight forwarders only until now, will bring added value to this industry segment and is available in 14 countries covering over 50 key receiving centers in Asia Pacific.
 
 “DHL aims to reach out to businesses that use traditional freight forwarding services, but who seek to reduce the complexities and inconveniences of international shipping processes,” said Tim Baxter, –General Director of DHL-VNPT Express. “Airport to Door Express combines DHL-Express’ well known ease-of-use with the efficiencies needed by companies using traditional Incoterms and not requiring the full door to door service.”
 
With the Airport to Door Expressservice, DHL aims to tap into an industry segment that is estimated to account for 50 percent of the total cross-border airfreight market in Asia Pacific.
 
Customers within a non-integrated transport chain will enjoy the simplicity and control of one point of contact, one fixed price and one invoice for all their import requirements, aligned to their preferred Incoterms. They will also benefit from market-leading transit times of one and two days for intra-Asia shipments, DHL’s expert customs clearance and 24-hour tracking services.
 
In addition, customers who use the Airport to Door Express service will not only enjoy a competitive price and access to conveniently located receiving centers but can  leverage DHL’s unrivalled air and network infrastructure, but will also be able to send packages that are not restricted by weight or size limits.
 
 
 
Airport to Door Express was launched in 14 markets in Asia Pacific covering Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam. It is anticipated that the product will be expanded to the rest of Asia Pacific and to other regions at a later stage.
