China Corp to Make Low-cost Automobiles in Vietnam

Hagiang Electrical & Mechanical Co. (EMC) made debut Yuejin Vietnam joint stock company in Hanoi October 19 to cooperate with China’s Nanjing Auto Corp to manufacture low-cost automobiles in the ASEAN country, New Hanoi online reported on October 22.

The company will produce trucks with weight capacity from 1 to 30 tons, and vehicle for special purposes, EMC chairman Nguyen Cuong was cited as saying.

EMC will help the Chinese automobile corporation to sell MG model in Vietnam’s market, Nguyen Cuong noted.

As of April of 2007, China invested $1.18 billion in 437 projects, ranking 14th among 77 countries and territories investing in Vietnam, said statistics from the Ministry of Investment and Planning. (www.hanoimoi.com.vn)
