The U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC) has stopped the antidumping duty for pangasius catfish exported by three Vietnamese companies, including Anvifish Co. Ltd, QVD, and Bianfish, according to the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP).
The VASEP said in the ruling posted September 8 in the Federal Register, the DOC set a rate of 15.38 per cent for catfish from the An Giang Fisheries Import and Export JSC (Agifish).
In a preliminary ruling, the DOC said Vietnam-based pangasius producers QVD Food Co. Ltd. and Binh An Seafood Joint Stock Co. did not sell subject merchandise at less than normal value during the period of review between Aug. 1, 2006, and July 31, 2007.
The rate on other Vietnamese catfish exporters is 63.88 per cent.
The product covered by this order is frozen fish fillets, including regular, shank, and strip fillets and portions, whether or not breaded or marinated, of the species Pangasius Bocourti, Pangasius Hypophthalmus (also known as Pangasius Pangasius), and Pangasius Micronemus.
The department says it will issue a final ruling sometime in the next 120 days. (Vasep)
