The E.U. will likely reduce anti-dumping duty for stainless steel screws imported from Vietnam, according to Vietnam’s Trade Office in Belgium and the E.U.

The E.C. has decided to conduct mid-term monitoring on imposition of anti-dumping duty against steel screws of Vietnamese origin.

The decision was made after receiving request from the 100 per cent Taiwan-invested Header Plan Co. Ltd., in Vietnam.

Earlier, the E.U. slapped the punitive tariff of 7.7 per cent on Vietnamese steel screws from Nov 20, 2005 to Nov 20, 2010. All Vietnamese exporters of the product are subject to this duty.

During the mid-term monitoring, if the E.U. accepts the market economic status for Header Plan, or define lower dumping band, the bloc may cut the tariff. (Vietnam Economic Times)
