Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai has disapproved China Steel’s US$1.15-billion rolled steel mill project in southern Ba Ria-Vung Tau province, the Dau Tu newspaper reported.
The disapproval is because Ba Ria-Vung Tau has already gathered many huge steel factories. At present, the province is housing up to nine steel mills.
The deputy prime minister suggested the investor choose other locations for the project.
The factory was planned to locate at My Xuan A2 Industrial Park to produce steel serving the local automobile, shipbuilding and energy industries. (Investment)
