IFC Called for Advising Vietnam to Restructure Credit Institutions, Services

Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam, the country’s central bank, Nguyen Van Binh Sept 18 appealed to Farida Khambata, vice president of IFC’s Asia and Latin America for advising and helping Vietnam in restructuring credit institutions, diversifying services for local banks, developing payment systems as well as completing building legal laws.
 
At the working session with Deputy Governor Binh, Ms Farida Khambata exchanged IFC’s investment strategies in the banking and financial fields in order to improve capacity to manage risks and liquidity of banks, Vietnam News Agency said.
 
IFC will provide technical assistance to develop financial service infrastructure and invest to set up a center for credit information and payment systems, Ms Farida Khambata noted.
 
IFC is an arm of the World Bank with tasks to boost investment into private sector in developing countries to help reduce poverty. (VNA)
