The Joint Stock Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank), the country’s seventh biggest banks by assets and the Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group (Vinacomin), Oct 10 signed a VND1.2 trillion credit contract to invest into a bauxite exploitation project in central highlands province of Lam Dong, Thoi Bao Kinh Te said.
Central highland province of Lam Dong is about 130 kilometers northeast of Ho Chi Minh City. Vinacomin, country’s top miner, did not specify further, however.
Between Jan and Sept, Vinacomin made revenues of VND37.426 trillion (US$2.268 billion), including coal revenues of VND23 trillion (US$1.393 billion), up 42 per cent on year, Thoi Bao Kinh Te added.
