Strengthening Human Resource Attraction

The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) collaborated with French specialists and Prevoir Vietnam Life Insurance Co. Ltd to organise a conference on “Policies to attract human resources in the competitive labour market” in Hanoi on October 21, 2008.
 
When Vietnam integrated more deeply into the world and enjoyed high economic growth rates in recent years, the labour market was seeing stiff competition among recruiters.
According to Mr Frederic Laurencon, specialist of life insurance product development division at Prevoir Vietnam Life Insurance Co. Ltd, it is very difficult to seek and keep capable and suitable employees in the current context and this leads to “salary inflation”. Employees are less loyal to their employers when they seek out new positions with higher incomes. Thus, the companies are paying dear price for the job leave by employees. After they are trained, they come to work for rival companies.
 
To tackle this situation, one of the solutions Mr Frederic introduced is to sign insurance policies for all employees or key figures to strengthen their loyalty. “Of course, these employees are to enjoy many interests when they hold insurance policies. This is a common and professional method to keep employees by world’s leading firms,” said Mr Frederic.
 
The conference attracted nearly 50 enterprises to participate.
