Vietnam Business Forum would like to introduce famous tourist sites in Can Tho City in the Mekong Delta.
Cai Rang floating market
About 5 km from the downtown of Can Tho City, Cai Rang floating market is open all day but it is busiest from sunrise to about 8 a.m. The main items sold there are local farm products and specialties. From Cai Rang floating market, visitors can join a tour of the Mekong Delta like Phong Dien orchards. In these gardens, visitors can walk, breathe fresh air, enjoy different kinds of fruits and countryside specialties and stay at nice guest houses in the shade of trees.
Ninh Kieu Wharf
Lying in the fork junction of the Hau River and the Can Tho River, Ninh Kieu Wharf has been expanded to 30 metres in width. The banks were concreted to the “cage buildings” in Can Tho ancient market. The wharf surface was covered bricks and planted flowers along. This has become a favourite park of Can Tho residents and visitors in the city.
My Khanh tourist garden
About 10 km from Can Tho City and about 6 km from Cai Rang Bridge, the 7-hectare My Khanh tourist garden is famous for more than 20 species of fruit trees, flowers and animals like bird, monkey, crocodile and tortoise. The garden is intended to be expanded to 80 ha.
Bang Lang stork sanctuary
Located in Thoi Binh village, Thoi Thuan commune, Thot Not district, Bang Lang stork sanctuary is one of the largest bird gardens in southern Vietnam. There are dozens of stork species like white stork, egret, heron, pelican, and woodpecker. This place has become a stunning destination for visitors in Can Tho City.
Alluvium tour
Situated on Con Au islet, about 800 m from Ninh Kieu wharf and 10-minute sailing across the Can Tho River, the first impression of visitors will surely be low green plants and water. Visitors can move only by ship or on foot. This is a best place to get rid of working pressures.
Binh Thuy Pagoda
Binh Thuy Pagoda, which is also known as Long Tuyen ancient shrine, is about 5 km from the heart of Can Tho City. Binh Thuy Pagoda contains architectural and art values, especially wood sculpture. This also holds cultural values of the water civilisation of Can Tho and Mekong Delta.
Ong Temple ( Quang Trieu Club House)
Located on Hai Ba Trung Road facing to Ninh Kieu Bridge, Quang Trieu Club House was built in 1894 in the Quang Tu administration of the Nguyen Dynasty. Its architecture is almost undamaged. Many Chinese-origin residents pray at Quang Trieu Club House during festivals and rituals.
Muniransay Khmer Temple
Located at 36 Hoa Binh Boulevard, Ninh Kieu district, Can Tho City, Muniransay Temple is typical of Khmer Himayana Buddhist temples. This is the largest and nicest pagoda in Can Tho. Home visitors and tourists will visit this famous temple for taking photographs and souvenirs.
Binh Thuy ancient house
Located at 26/1A Bui Huu Nghia Street, Binh Thuy Ward, Binh Thuy District, Can Tho City, the Binh Thuy ancient house is a French-styled building with Gotique-styled four-step staircase and spacious front yard.
Can Tho old market hall
Can Tho old market, which was once called Hang Duong market (market with full of poplar trees) or Market of Six Southern Provinces, is located on Hai Ba Trung Street. This market was built at the same time as Ben Thanh and Binh Tay markets in Ho Chi Minh City. The ancient market has been restored to its original architecture.
