The annual international trade fair opened in Can Tho on August 30 with the aim of promoting trade, strengthening exchanges among businesses and improving the competitiveness of Vietnamese products.
The fair featured more than 100 booths from domestic businesses, the Indonesia general consulate and foreign businesses from Japan, Thailand, Taiwan and the Republic of Korea.
A wide range of products was displayed including information and communications technology, electronic products, machinery, equipment, timber products and handicrafts.
Le Thi Kim Thu, Director of the Can Tho International Exhibition and Fair Company, said a seminar on promoting trade in the US market will be organised during the fair to help domestic businesses to seek foreign partners.
The organizing board also called upon businesses to sponsor scholarships for pupils in the 2011-2012 academic year.
The fair will run until September 5.
