This is a key national investment project and is a part of the oil and gas industry development strategy through 2015, with vision to 2025.

Ca Mau fertiliser plant is located on 62 ha in Khanh An commune, U Minh district, Ca Mau province. The facility, which is near to PM3 - Ca Mau gas pipeline, has an annual capacity of 800,000 tonnes of urea fertilisers. It costs US$780 million, of which EPC contract value accounted for US$563 million.

The plant is powered by natural gas extracted from PM3 - CAA Block, offshore southern coast of Vietnam. The facility is equipped with advanced technologies provided by world-leading firms. Currently, the project management board and contractors are making great effort to rest-run and hand over the plant to the investor in February 2012.
