Swing for the Kids 2012 to Open in May in Hoa Binh

A ceremony was recently held in the Vietnam Investment Review Newspaper to announce the sixth annual Swing for the Kids 2012 - a charity golf tournament. Scheduled for May 2012, the Swing for the Kids tournament will be held at Phoenix Golf Course, Luong Son district, Hoa Binh province.

 

The tournament is expected to attract the participation of almost 144 golfers, including diplomats, representatives of international organisations, and domestic and foreign golfers. Apart from playing for charity purposes, the Organising Board of Swing for the Kids 2012 will also put up for auction of three memorable photos of American golf legend Tiger Woods with his signature.

 

Speaking at the ceremony, honorary Chairman Nguyen Manh Cam - former foreign minister - appreciated the contributions of the annual golf tournament - Swing for the Kids - over the past years. The tournament had raised VND2.5 billion in five years to grant Vietnamese poor students through the Vietnam Study Encouragement Fund.

 

The event is jointly held by the Vietnam Investment Review Newspaper and the Foreign Investment Agency under the auspices of the Ministry of Planning and Investment and the Vietnam Study Encouragement Association.
