5th Quang Nam - Heritage Itinerary Festival to Open in Jun 2013

The fifth Quang Nam Heritage Itinerary Festival will be organised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Quang Nam Provincial People’s Committee in June 2013 in Hoi An City in order to promote and celebrate Quang Nam and Vietnamese culture, working alongside some districts like Nui Thanh, Duy Xuyen, Dien Ban, Dong Giang and Nam Giang The festival is expected to have the participation of central and highland provinces and 20 countries and territories in the world.
 
The event will highlight unique displays of intangible cultural heritage featuring exhibitions of performing arts and street carnivals; the second international choral festival joined by 1,500 artists from art troupes from 20 different countries; Vietnamese ethnic arts festival; ASEAN cultural space exhibition; "Vietnamese marine cultural heritage” exhibition; exhibited artwork, exhibition of Quang Nam rockwork in My Son Sanctuary; display of art lanterns in Hoi An Town, and others.
 
Of particular note locally, the  Bai Choi singing festival will be opened for the first time at this event, performed by troupes from Thua Thien-Hue, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai and Binh Dinh Phu Yen, Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan and Binh Thuan provinces and Da Nang City. This public art festival is the foundation for study and documentation of Bai Choi singing, to submit to the UNESCO Committee for the recognition of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
