VinaCapital Hoi An Ltd., December 7 started construction of a US$16 million tourism resort in Dien Ban District in central Quang Nam province with the aim to better serve tourists, state media said.
The Sofitel Holan Resort, which is said to be the most luxurious of this kind in the locality, will cover 8.6 hectares.
It will include 89 high-end villas and other entertainment facilities, featuring the ancient Asia architectural styles.
The resort will be put into operation in the next 24 months under the management of the French-based Accor Group.
Quang Nam, 860 km south of the capital city of Hanoi and 865 km North of Ho Chi Minh City, boasts two World Heritage Sites, namely Hoi An Ancient Town and My Son Holy Land.
The province has so far attracted 166 tourism projects worth US$1.89 billion. Most projects are located in the ancient town of Hoi An, Dien Ban district and Chu Lai Open Economic Zones.
Quang Nam targets one million foreign visitors this year. (Vietnam Economic Times)
