The People’s Committee of southern Binh Duong province April 14 gave license to the Kirin Acecook Vietnam Co., a joint venture between Japan’s Kirin Beverage Group, Japan’s Acecook Group and Acecook Vietnam JSC.
The Kirin Acecook Vietnam will invest US$34 million in building a beverage plant with a annual capacity of 96 million bottles of assorted drinks.
Once it is operational from May 2009, the plant is expected to notch up US$100 million sales revenues in the first year.
The plant will employ around 200 workers.
Binh Duong has attracted 1,686 foreign investment projects with an overall investment capital of more than US$9.84 billion, with Japan ranking third among investors in terms of capital. (Vietnam & World Economy)
