A delegation of more than 30 Dutch entrepreneurs April 14 came to southern Binh Duong province to seek investment opportunities, Vietnam News Agency reported.
The guests including representatives from small and medium-sized businesses from Netherlands worked with the local Investment & Industrial Development Joint Stock Company (Becamex) to discuss potential cooperation.
They enquired about land leasing for factories and plants, the availability of skilled workers and labor, energy supply and environment protection.
Head of the mission, H.M.A. Alenven said, Dutch had good impressions about Vietnam’s economic development, particularly Binh Duong province, one of the Southeast-Asian country’s most attractive destinations for foreign investors.
The province has to date has pulled in US$9.4 billion in 1,650 foreign-invested projects, with 874 projects valued at US$5.3 billion located in industrial parks.
Separately, 36 leading Dutch companies operating in the areas of processing, mechanics, agriculture, water treatment and management arrived in Vietnam last month to hunt their business opportunities, said the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry of Trade.
According to the ministry, the Netherlands is the second biggest EU investor in Vietnam with US$2.4 billion in foreign direct investment, including US$2 billion disbursement. (VNA)
