Vietnam Biggest City to Train 11,000 IT Experts Annually

HCM City, the biggest city of Vietnam will be able to provide 11,000 IT experts and 25,000 skilled workers in the IT sector a year, said the municipal Department of Information and Communications, state media has said.
 
HCM City now has 22 universities and colleges and 150 training centers in this field.
 
The city has also set up a VND20 billion (US$1.2 million) fund for IT human resource development.
 
At present, more than 6,000 local and foreign IT companies are operating in HCM City, 50 per cent growth compared to last year.
 
The IT industry this year contributed 1.5 per cent of the city’s GDP and by 2015 the amount is expected to be 3 per cent, according to the city’s Department of Information and Communications. (VNA)
