Vietnam Licenses US$59 Bln FDI Projects, Sees US$9 Bln Disbursed in Jan-October

Vietnam has licensed 953 FDI projects with a combined registered capital of US$58.3 billion between January and October, rising six folds on year, but has seen only US$9.1 billion implemented during the time, up 38.29 per cent on year, the Ministry of Planning and Investment’s Foreign Investment Department said.
 
In October this year, Vietnam granted licenses to 68 FDI projects valued at US$2.02 billion witnessed existing 247 FDI projects added with US$1.02 billion between Jan and Oct, the department said.
 
In the first ten months of the year, FDI-invested companies are estimated to have made revenues of US$40.6 billion, up 29.6 per cent on year and exports values of US$20 billion, up 25.3 per cent from a year ago. If export of crude oil value is included, gross revenues of FDI companies hit US$50 billion.
 
Taiwan takes the lead among Vietnam’s top 15 countries and territories investing in Vietnam, the department added.
 
So far this year, Vietnam reports 9,673 valid FDI projects with registered capital of US$144.4 billion, the department said. The projects include 6,340 in industrial and cosntruction projects capitalized at US$84.846 billion, 2,366 services projects valued at US$54.870 billion and the remainer belongs to agro, forestry and fisheries areas.
