Plastic Industry Grows 15-20 per cent per annum

On October 22, 2008 at the international seminar on “plastic industry - new regional trends and Vietnamese development orientations” held in Ho Chi Minh City, Mr Ho Duc Lam, Vice Chairman of Vietnam Plastics Association (PVA), said that the plastic industry has developed rapidly in Vietnam with the growth rate of 15-20 per cent a year.

 

The sector has about 2,000 enterprises, mainly located in southern provinces and cities. During the first nine months of 2008, the export of plastic products brought in US$674 million in turnover, a year-on-year increase of 34 per cent.
