Pearl Research, San Francisco-based business consulting firm, has forecast the number of online gamers of Vietnam will surpass 10 million by 2010, driven by rising incomes, rising PC and Internet penetration rates, and particularly youths aged less 25 years old accounting for 50 per cent of Vietnam's population, Vietnam News Agency said.

In a recent-released "Online Games Market in Vietnam" report, Pearl Research said Vietnam's economy has been expanding 7 per cent in the past decade and the Asean country is attracting significant investments from technology companies.

Pearl Research said currently Vietnam has 25 million internet users and internet surfing rate of 23.5 per cent.

Many gamers said they spend VND60,000 to VND100,000 a month on online games and a few interviewees spend VND500,000 on high-end internet cafes. (VNA)
