The Hanoi Department of Post and Telecommunication on October 6, 2005, organised the inauguration of the Hanoi IT Transaction Centre (HITTC) and to sign a co-operation with the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and PC World Vietnam magazine on helping information technology enterprises in Hanoi.
The centre was built with the aim of promoting the application and development of information technology in Hanoi and encouraging the development of information technology enterprises. Construction began in May, 2002 at 185 Giang Vo, Dong Da district, Hanoi. The whole project contains 17 storeys, seven of which are complete with equipment, has been put into operation. Nguyen Manh Dung, director of the Hanoi Department of Post and Telecommunication, said that apart from acting as an electronic portal of Hanoi and an exhibition area of IT products with a name ‘Hanoi IT World,’ in the future, HITTC would provide more comprehensive services for the local IT community.
HITTC has five areas, including: a product exhibition and introduction area, training and technology transfer area, a conference and seminar organising area, an IT and telecommunication equipment area, and a transaction area. In the coming time, the Hanoi Department of Post and Telecommunication will promote its support for IT communities in four services, including electronic commerce promotion, production promotion and marketing, IT market information service, and international trade promotion.
Within the framework of the event, the Hanoi Department of Post and Telecommunication signed a co-operation agreement with VCCI and PCWorld magazine on helping local IT enterprises and the IT community develop production and business activities. HITTC has co-operated with the Vietnam Software Association and PC World Vietnam magazine to organise an exhibition and introduction of outstanding IT products of 2005 from such IT enterprises as Intel, HP, SMC, FPT and Vinh Xuan. The exhibition will take place in late 2005.
Also on this occasion, the Hanoi-based office of PC World Vietnam magazine opened on the ninth floor of the HITTC building.
