To form a continuous transportation network, facilitate freight transportation and socioeconomic development, improve the material and spiritual life of local people, the Ninh Thuan Transportation Project Management Unit is quickly completing and operating three projects: Road from Tan Son town, Ninh Son district, Ninh Thuan province to Ta Nang intersection, Duc Trong district, Lam Dong province; road from North - South Expressway to National Highway 1 and Ca Na General Seaport; and Van Lam - Son Hai Road.
Key transportation projects
Mr. Pham Minh Tan from the Ninh Thuan Transportation Project Management Unit said the road from Tan Son town, Ninh Son district, Ninh Thuan province to Ta Nang intersection, Duc Trong district, Lam Dong province was funded by central and local budget under the medium-term public investment plan (2021 - 2025 period), with VND1,494.737 billion of investment capital. The 62.5-km road consists of a 45.4-km section through Ninh Thuan province and a 17.1km section in Lam Dong province. The unit directed contractors to develop detailed construction plans and specific commitments to ensure project progress and quality.
The second project is the road from North - South Expressway to National Highway 1 and Ca Na General Seaport. The first component was funded VND610 billion by the central budget and VND41.28 billion by the local budget. The second component was sponsored VND213.958 billion by the central budget and VND37.762 billion by the local budget. The project was expected to be completed in 2021 - 2025.
The third project is 13.077-km Van Lam - Son Hai Road with a total investment of VND372.515 billion, scheduled for completion in the 2021 - 2025 phase.
These projects play an important role in inter-regional and provincial connectivity (Lam Dong - Ninh Thuan - Khanh Hoa), especially with smooth linkage to North - South Expressway, National Highway 20, National Highway 28B, National Highway 27, National Highway 1 and Ring Road of Ninh Thuan province.
Accelerating site clearance
Regarding the road from Tan Son town, Ninh Son district, Ninh Thuan province to Ta Nang intersection, Duc Trong district, Lam Dong province, 38 households in Ninh Thuan province are currently affected by site clearance. A total of 301 households in Duc Trong district are affected by this work. Duc Trong is currently conducting land compensation and 8km/23.1 km of cleared site is now ready for construction, while the remaining 15.1km has no land compensation because it runs across forest land. In Lam Dong province, the construction site is currently ready on 15km/17.1km. The remaining 2.1km is not ready because its forestland purpose has not changed to proper purposes for road construction.
To complete and operate these projects on schedule, for sections with ready construction site, the Ninh Thuan Transportation Project Management Unit will accelerate the construction progress to achieve the schedule and meet the disbursement progress. In addition, the unit will continue to coordinate with relevant agencies to work with the Ministry of Planning and Investment to revise the medium-term public investment plan to meet the proposed plan; and strengthen coordination and work with local authorities to soon complete site clearance for the project.
“Connected traffic will be a launching pad for Ninh Thuan to make a breakthrough. The unit will speed up the construction progress to ensure project completion as planned. Hopefully, with consistent solutions and collective effort of local people, these projects will soon be completed to support local socioeconomic development and give a new facelift to the province," Tan concluded.
