Vinh Phuc province prioritizes funding for transport projects, helping significantly drive socioeconomic growth
By focusing maximal resources, planning, development investment and traffic infrastructure connection with neighboring provinces and the national transport infrastructure system, the province's road network is relatively complete with a total length of 7,918 km, including 120 km of national highways and expressways, 470 km of provincial roads and equivalents, 309 km of urban roads, 693 km of district roads and 6,406 km of rural commune roads. Besides, it has 35 km of railways and 75 km of waterways.
According to the Vinh Phuc Provincial Planning for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050, expressways and national highways are integrated into the Road Network Planning for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050, including Noi Bai-Lao Cai Expressway, Hanoi Ring Road 5, National Highway 2, National Highway 2C and National Highway 2D. The province will have 47 provincial roads and equivalents, consisting of five orbital roads with a total length of 1,132 km.
By 2030, Vinh Phuc will basically complete important arterial roads such as North-South traffic axis, East-West traffic axis, Hanoi Ring Road 5, and five provincial belt roads. The province will also upgrade and expand existing provincial roads, build new ones according to the Provincial Planning and prioritize investment resources to build intersections to address traffic congestion in Vinh Yen city.
Based on focused planning and prioritized investment resources, many large-scale key traffic projects of great significance to the province’s socioeconomic development have been deployed and proposed for investment to build Capital regional connectivity in the province like Huong Canh-Yen Lac section on Ring Road 3; a road from the interchange of Noi Bai-Lao Cai Expressway (Van Quan commune) to the center of Song Lo district and the branch line to Song Lo I Industrial Park; a section from National Highway 2 in Vinh Yen City to Ring Road 3 on North-South traffic axis of Vinh Phuc urban area; Hanoi Ring Road 5 and the section along the foot of Tam Dao Mountain linking Ring Road 5 with National Highway 2B to Tay Thien, National Highway 2C and Tuyen Quang; and a section from Ring Road 4 to the left dike of the Red River on North-South traffic axis of Vinh Phuc urban area.
In particular, the railway overpass construction project on Nguyen Tat Thanh Street is a testament to Vinh Phuc's determination to solve urgent traffic problems. The VND488 billion special traffic project, started construction in late December 2022, aimed to address traffic congestion and ensure traffic safety at the intersection between Nguyen Tat Thanh Street in Vinh Yen city with Hanoi-Lao Cai Railway. The project helps create architectural highlights in urban space and complete Vinh Phuc urban infrastructure as approved in the construction and transport plan.
With its efforts and resolution, Vinh Phuc has gradually affirmed its position as a dynamic social and economic center of the region and contributed positively to overall national development. Transport infrastructure investment and development is a testament to the province's determination to create momentum for socioeconomic development, improve people's livelihoods and attract investment capital.
