An international conference on listings and share offerings of Vietnamese enterprises in foreign markets will be opened in Hanoi on November 12 and in Singapore on November 17-18, the Labor newspaper reported.

The event will be jointly held by the Singapore Stock Exchange (SGX), Vietnam’s State Securities Commission (SSC) and the Foreign Ministry-run Vietnam & World Report with the attendance of Vietnamese government, industries, localities and enterprises.

This is a unique chance for local enterprises to propose relevant policies to facilitate the overseas listings.

Lawrence Wong, vice chairman of SGX, confirmed: “We will help Vietnamese enterprises understand foreign investors’ expectations in order to better adjust themselves when listing in Singapore.”

The State Bank of Vietnam’s representative Nguyen Van Anh said through overseas listings, Vietnamese enterprises will help bring foreign currency to improve the macro-economic situation in the country.

According to the SSC, Vietnam’s leading property developer Vincom and leading milk producer Vinamilk have so far applied documents to offer shares in foreign markets, but facing legal procedures. (Labor)
