Dong Nai Provice is in the valley of Dong Nai River with a branch called La Nga River. Dong Nai's terrain includes valleys, deltas, mounds, low hills with the only quite high land bounded by Lan Dong Province. Most of the areas are basalt soil, grey soil and archaic alluvial soil which are very favourable for growing industrial trees (such as rubber tree, coffee tree, etc.), fruit trees and short time industrial trees.
 
Transportation system: Main road is the No. 1 national road connecting Dong Nai with other provinces. Others are the No.20 national road from Bien Hoa City to Lam Dong Province and No.51 national road from Dong Nai to Ba Ria-Vung Tau. The North-South railway goes through Bien Hoa City to Ho Chi Minh City. Besides, Dong Nai has a river and sea ways system with seaports and parking stations for economic and tourism development.
 
Dong Nai has a developed industry attracting the second large amount of foreign investment, after Ho Chi Minh City. There are many large industrial parks around Bien Hoa City. Besides, Dong Nai has many handicrafts of which Dong Nai ceramics is beautiful and famous all over the country. This is also an important exported fine handicrafts article. Dong Nai has large plantations of rubber and coffee. Cat Tien national park is a large primeval forest.
 
Tourists to Dong Nai can attend ecological tours to forests or fruit gardens, fishing, pleasure-boat on Don Nai River and visit beauty sites of Long An Lake, Suoi Khe Cultural Area, Tri An Waterfall, Ma Da Forest, etc. and cultural and historical sites of war zone D, Tran Bien Literature Temple, study archaeological sites of Hang Con sepulcher, dan da Binh Da (stone music instrument), etc.
